00 — About
I build for hiring because I’ve lived every side of it.
I started in the room where hiring actually happens — screening, interviewing, and closing engineers as a technical recruiter at FOVE and then UiPath, where I led talent acquisition for the Nordics. I learned exactly how broken hiring is from the inside.
So I tried to fix it from the outside. I co-founded Hireproof, ran nearly a hundred customer interviews, raised pre-seed from a Nordic VC, and built a product with two brilliant technical co-founders. We didn’t find product-market fit fast enough, and we closed it down. Best failure of my life.
Now I do it as a product manager — building AI recruitment software at Jobilla, and leading an employee-experience product line at Commune in Tokyo — while running Kops Works, my one-person studio for small, sharp products in recruitment and job search.
The edge is the overlap: I’m a better recruiter than 99% of product builders, and a better product builder than 99% of recruiters. Nobody in either crowd has sat in all three seats — recruiter, founder, product — and that’s the lens every product here gets built with.
The studio runs like a portfolio: a few experiments at a time, launched within months, judged against rules written down in advance, and killed in public when they lose. Some ideas come from my own scar tissue; the rest come from people telling me what frustrated them this week.
Kops Works is the umbrella I run these experiments under. Some go live. Some go in the graveyard. You’ll see both.
